Description

There's a pawtastic group campsite in the Coronado National Forest at Rock Bluff Campground. This spot is in a secluded area near Parker Canyon Lake. When you stay here, you'll have access to the water for boating, viewing wildlife, and fishing. There's also an interpretive trail around the shoreline here. The lake and campground are in an area that's sparsely wooded with juniper and oak trees. This property has no running water. Bring enough with you for your washing and drinking needs.

This facility accommodates up to 50 people and has three campsites. You'll find vault toilets, a picnic area with grills, and a few fire rings on site. There's a general store here where you can purchase fishing bait. Parker Canyon Lake is a short drive away and has a recreational area with a boat dock. The park permits boats with no more than one 10-horsepower motor on the water. Go fishing here for cold- and warm-water fish like trout, bass, and catfish. To hike around the lake, you can pick up an interpretive trail about a quarter mile from camp. This pathway has benches where you can sit and watch the area wildlife. Look for roadrunners, javelina, and coatimundi. You may also see bald eagles that nest here in the winter or osprey that migrate through the area in the fall.

Coronado Forest and the campsite are pet-friendly. Keep Fido secure on a leash any time they're outside your tent or RV. Pick up and discard any droppings they leave in the area.

Bring your pup to Rock Bluff Campground for a special outing. Camp in the mountains and take time to visit Parker Canyon Lake. You can bring your boat and fish while your pooch relaxes in the bow. Stroll around the water on the trail and enjoy the scenic vistas. Just be sure to call ahead before you come -- reservations are required to stay here.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
