Description

Camping at a convenience store may not be your first thought when planning your trip to Florida -- however, Rocky's Campground may change your mind. This excellent little facility has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including the tastiest breakfast wraps around! The grounds are located in the wilder northern part of the state and are close to some great fishing and hunting spots.

Rocky's offers campers 34 full-hookup sites out on a level, grassy area, along with a section for tenters as well. Fire rings and picnic tables are provided, and management asks that you do not set up campfires anywhere but in the designated spots. Trees are scattered throughout the grounds, but privacy is minimal. What the facility does have is a brand new, completely spotless bathhouse, taking all of the terror out of using the restroom while camping! Also, because the premises is, indeed, a convenience store, guests will find themselves right beside all of the supplies they could ever want, along with a grill that opens up at 4:30 in the morning.

Rates to stay here start at $7 per person at the primitive area and jump to $29.99 a night for a full-hookup lot. Weekly and monthly rates are also offered, but keep in mind that the campground will inspect your RV if it's older to keep the park looking ship-shape.

Other than shopping for souvenirs and camping goods, the grounds themselves don't offer much to do, although the area does make for a great place to take your woofer out for a walk. What makes Rocky's the place to be is how close it is to three of the state's parks, including Spring Creek and Hamptons Creek. If you're into fishing or hunting, it's hard to beat these wild, untouched lands.

Doggos are welcome at the campground, and all that is asked of owners is that they clean up whatever their pooches leave behind and dispose of it correctly. We suggest that you bring along a leash unless your furry pal has superb voice-command obedience.

To switch things up and camp at a convenience store, surprise yourself and see what all the fuss is about at Rocky's Convenience Store and Campground!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
