Description

Safe Haven RV Park is a gated campground where road trippers can roll off the freeway onto a comfortable paved, level site in a peaceful natural setting with large established trees for shade. Easy pull-through access makes setting up a breeze, with hook-ups to electricity (30/50 amp), water, and sewer, plus wifi for campers wanting to check their emails or keep working online. There’s a picnic table on every site, and you can also use a charcoal or gas grill. The daily rate for this service is $32 or $175 a week.

The camp is near the interstate, making it a stopover retreat for folks traveling to further destinations. Despite that, no road noise will get in the way of a great night’s sleep. Visitors also remark that they love how friendly the hosts are.

Safe Haven is pet-friendly, and the general rule when bringing dogs in the RV is to keep them on-leash while outside the vehicle. Maintaining a clean camp for all guests means packing litter bags and using them to scoop up your pooch's waste. If you are considering making a reservation and have questions regarding their pet policy, contact the staff by phone or through their website.

The restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities are always clean, and the tidy grounds provide a lovely natural setting where grassy spaces are perfect for daily doggy walks or a game of soccer with the kids.

The nearby town of Macon is 10 minutes from the camp and is a perfect example of why so many songs are written about Georgia. Heritage homes and buildings showcase the beauty of Victorian, Italian, and Gothic architecture, while local museums house artifacts that date back thousands of years. Tyler’s Place Dog Park lets happy hounds staying at the camp go off their leash to have fun with other pups.

Safe Haven has plenty of space for tents and backpackers looking to discover local walkways, including The Ocmulgee River Trail, a scenic starter with 5 miles of tree-lined trail around the symbolic Ocmulgee Monument. The RV park is an easy drive off the highway and ideal base camp for exploring the mysteries of nearby Macon. Peak times are summer and holidays; booking in advance during these times is highly recommended.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
