Description

Located high in the Manti-LaSal Mountains at an elevation of 7,600 feet, Scofield State Park offers excellent opportunities for boating, camping, and fishing at any time of year. With its prime location on the shores of the 2,800-acre Scofield Reservoir, the park draws visitors from far and wide and is the pawfect pet-friendly camping destination.

The lake lies at the center of many activities and experiences in the park, offering pristine swimming, boating, and fishing conditions in the summer months. When winter comes, anglers can ice fish for rainbow and cutthroat trout, while other visitors turn their attention to snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the rugged mountain terrain.

Scofield State Park boasts two campgrounds in gorgeous settings around the reservoir. Mountain View Campground sits on a terrace on the shoreline and provides breathtaking lake vistas. Smaller trailers or tents are best suited here, and it's a relaxing spot to set up camp for a night or even a week.

Madsen Bay Campground is found on the lake's northern shoreline and now offers electric and water utilities. Designed for larger camping trailers, these paved sites are popular with families and groups. However, please note that only Mountain View campground has showers and Madsen Bay does not, so keep this in mind if you're the type of camper who enjoys having all the creature comforts.

If you're camping with your pet, make sure you stick to the areas of the park designated as pet-friendly. You'll also need to keep your dog on a leash of six feet or shorter and under control throughout your stay, and remember to clean up after your pet and dispose of their waste responsibly.

Scofield State Park offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreation and relaxation all year round, so why not explore the best this park has to offer with your canine companion in tow?

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
