Description

Escape to paradise at Silver Springs State Park -- home of a large, beautiful spring teeming with wildlife. You'll feel you're like a movie while at this park, and it's partly because quite a few films have been shot here. The lush greenery resembles a wild jungle, and the colorful birds and fish only add to the amazing scenery.

For those looking to camp here, the facility is equipped with 59 campsites suitable for both tents and RVs. These sites feature fire rings and picnic tables, with various hookup options available. Cabins are also offered at this park; however, our furry friends are not welcome in them. Water faucets provide drinking water to the camp, and a dump station is accessible on-site. There is also a primitive group camp on the premises, which is often rented out for organized gatherings.

To enter the park, all vehicles need to have a ParkPass permit, costing $8. Nightly rates for the campsites are a standard $24 while cabins cost $110. A restaurant is located near the entrance to the park for any who would rather pay for their meals than have to prepare them, and WiFi can be accessed at both this building and the main office.

As soon as you arrive, it will become obvious that you won't be looking for things to do here. Even just exploring the nature that surrounds you is sure to take up all of your time. A kayak launch is provided and can also be used for getting your paddle board in the water. Motorized boats have to drive a bit to access the boat launch, and even once they are in the water, the entire river is wakeless and does not allow speeds over 5 mph. Your pooch will love going with you on all of the hiking trails that wind through this facility, so be sure to schedule some time for walks!

Dogs are definitely welcome at this state park -- as long as they stay on-leash throughout their stay. It's also important to keep your pupper close at all times, as alligators do live in this habitat. Remember to always clean up your pet's waste so that woofers continue to be welcome here.

For a scenic getaway like no other, be sure to add Silver Springs State Park to your list!
