With the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the beautiful waters of St. Andrews Bay on the other, St. Andrews State Park is heaven on earth for anyone who loves water sports and activities. Found three miles to the east of Panama City Beach, Florida, this coastal gem is a wonderful destination for a pet-friendly camping vacation.
With its blindingly white sand and gorgeous emerald waters, the park boasts that unique beachfront scenery for which Florida is famous. With one-and-a-half miles of sand to choose from, there's ample room for you to find a spot to catch some sun. Swimming, surfing, snorkeling and even scuba diving are all available, so there's a good chance you're going to get wet at some time during your stay.
But there's a whole lot more to see and do when you're not in the water. You can marvel at the huge variety of native bird life, ride a bike, take a boat tour, go fishing, or hike the park's two nature trails. Three picnic areas are also provided.
In the campground, two loops of campsites are spread out near the park's Grand Lagoon. Most sites accommodate RVs or tents, but nine sites are tent-only. Best of all, pets are welcome at all campsites.
All pets must be on a six-foot leash and well-behaved at all times in St. Andrews State Park. Make sure that you never leave your pet unattended and that you always remember to pick up after your pooch and properly dispose of their waste in trash receptacles. It's also worth pointing out while that you're permitted to walk your pet in the picnic areas and along the bike and hiking trails, your dog isn't allowed at the beach, wetlands, or playground.
Stick to these simple rules and you and your pet should have a grrreat time in this picture-perfect state park.
