Description

Suwannee River Hideaway Campground is a public, 116-acre campground situated by the Suwannee River in Old Town, Florida. It offers primitive tent sites and RV sites, many of which are pull-through and offer 30 and 50 amp hookups. Whether you prefer hiking or fishing, this campground’s central location enables patrons to have easy access to nearby hiking trails, local freshwater springs, lakes, and wetlands. Plus, since the campground is located away from any highways, it allows the campers to enjoy a good night’s sleep with nothing but nature sounds under a starry sky. Since the campground is surrounded by large, mature trees, there is plenty of shade to cool off in during the day.

The family- and dog-friendly campground features a swimming pool, a boardwalk that passes through nearby wetlands to a river, and a dirt trail by the shoreline, which is perfect for hiking adventures with your canine buddy. Since there is an abundance of wildlife, bird watching is one of the most popular activities at the location, aside from fishing and hiking. There are over 30 miles of trails to choose from, including the Nature Coast State Trail Head and the Suwannee River Wilderness trails. For those who enjoy water activities, there is a public boat ramp a mile away from the campground.

Free wifi can be found in several locations of the campground, including the pool and the clubhouse. It features a kitchen, bathrooms, and a fireplace. There is also a general store at the campground where patrons can check in, take advantage of the laundry facilities, use the bathhouse, or just buy items such as locally grown beef, maple syrup, charcoal, and ice.

Although this campground is pet-friendly, all canines have to remain leashed during their visit. Make sure to stock up on plastic bags and clean up after your furry friend both at the campground and at the nearby nature areas. Dogs cannot be left unattended, especially due to the amount of wildlife that roams around the areas such as bears.

Daily prices start from $34 per night. However, there are discounts for military persons and seniors.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
