Description

Go totally wild with your pet woofer for your next camping trip at Swan Lake Campground! This Montana camping area is nestled deep in the Flathead National Forest and offers visitors access to a beautiful lake with the view of mountain peaks all around.

Pick from 38 single-family sites (and one large site that can fit up to 100 of your closest friends), all of which come with standard camping accouterments -- think picnic table and fire ring. Don't expect any kind of frills here, as there are no hookups of any kind, though there is drinking water available on the property. The campground only stays open during summer months, so be sure to plan your trip for the small window of warm months. Fees to stay here start at $18 per night for a basic site and go up to $325 for a group lot at max capacity.

During your visit, you'll be amazed at the gorgeous scenery that surrounds you in every direction. When you're not relaxing on the beach, you can take to the crisp waters of Swan Lake, which are perfect for paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, and any other non-motorized activities. The area is popular with anglers as you can catch pike, trout, or salmon in the lake. If staying out on dry land is more your thing, you and your pupper can spend endless hours exploring all of the surrounding trails that wind through the Flathead National Forest.

Furry campers are totally welcome at the campground, but they do have to remember their manners. The forest's management asks all visitors to keep their four-legged friends on-leash and to clean up after them throughout their stay. Also, keep in mind that grizzly bears call Swan Lake home, so you need to stay with your pooch at all times and always store food items and toiletries locked away in your car.

For a trek out into the wild, be sure to check out Swan Lake Campground!
