It sits beside the beautiful Barren Lake, and countless campers visit every season to enjoy its wonderful setting and explore some of the area’s awesome outdoor activities. You and your pooch will pawsitively love it!

Tailwater Campground has 50 campsites, and each site has electric and water hookups. The sites are also equipped with fire pits and picnic tables. The nightly fee for a site is $20, and group sites are also available for $50 per night. The campground has well-kept amenities that provide the whole family with numerous fun ways to pass the time, including a playground, recreational field, amphitheater, horseshoe pit, and beach volleyball court. There is also a boat ramp for easy access to the lake.

You'll find lots of things to do around Tailwater Campground as well. Boating and fishing can be accessed from the campground, and if you feel like going for a swim, you can head to the nearby shoreline. There are also some great trails to explore in the region. One of the area’s best dog-friendly trails is Barren River Trail—it even connects to the campground! The trail is considered moderately difficult, and it covers over 13 miles. This point-to-point trail offers scenic views of the lake, and you can also catch a glimpse of some of the area’s flora and fauna.

While you are staying at Tailwater Campground, respect its on-leash policy for pooches. Also remember to clean up after your dog. If you plan on just visiting for the day, note that there is a fee for day use of the campground. Have a grrr-eat time!
