Description

If you're searching for a pet-friendly Florida campground where you and your dog can get away from it all, Three Rivers State Park might just be the pawfect destination. Tucked away in the state's northwest next to the Georgia border, this clean and cozy park offers tranquility, seclusion, and some impressive fishing.

Of course, the main highlight for dog lovers is that well-behaved pets are welcome at the campsites. There are 30 sites available to accommodate tents, RVs, and trailers, and most sites are shaded and offer water views. If you're willing to pick up after your dog and ensure that they don't disturb other guests, it's a good spot to settle in and get comfortable for a few days.

The number-one pastime in Three Rivers State Park is fishing. The park sits on the shores of Lake Seminole, which is formed by the convergence of the Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers, and the campground provides easy access to a small boat ramp and a sizable fishing pier. Anglers can target bass, catfish, bluegill, and several other species, while the calm waters are also perfect for fishing and kayaking. Canoe rentals are available for $15 a day.

If you ever tire of being out on the water, there are four nature trails to explore on foot. All trails can be accessed from the campground and either lead you through upland pine forest or along the shores of the lake. They offer a total of five miles of hiking, while there are also seven miles of biking trails.

If you're thinking of visiting Three Rivers State Park, there are a couple of points to be aware of first. A $3 entry fee applies per vehicle, and while there's a one-bedroom cabin available in the park, it does not permit pets. This is also a park that offers a quiet and secluded camping experience, so if you're looking for an action-packed adventure or a campground with easy access to heaps of shops and restaurants, this may not be the ideal destination for you.

But if you just want to enjoy some peace and quiet with your dog by your side, you'll probably feel right at home at Three Rivers State Park!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
