Description

The allure of North Florida sets the stage for a pleasurable overnighter or long-term stay where road trippers can feel a sense of home. Travelers Campground is a landscaped setting with a mix of fairly level concrete and grass sites and full-hookups to electricity (30/50 amp), water, and sewer.

The camp provides easy-to-maneuver, pull-through access with grandiose trees for shade, plus all-inclusive wi-fi and cable TV. A picnic table is provided with enough room for a fire grill and breathing space between your neighbors. The daily rate for RVs or pitching a tent among the trees is between $55 and $75.

The camp is near the interstate with no traffic noise reported -- only the convenience of a quick stopover in an RV park that sees folks return often. This is down to the friendly staff and a harmonious atmosphere where pets are allowed, complete with a fenced, dog park for off-leash bow-wow fun.

Unless Fido is having a blast in the pooch playground, the general rule is for pups to stay on a leash no longer than 6 feet and their doggy waste picked up by caring pet parents. Be sure to bring your own doggie waste bags.

Clean restrooms, showers, and laundry are a must for seasoned road trippers, and Travelers Campground sets the bar high with super-tidy grounds, colorful flower-beds, and a deluxe swimming pool to appease the Florida sun. A well-stocked camp store keeps essential RV accessories and groceries, while the kids will be in awe of the camp zoo, featuring ponies and goats! You might also see the odd peacock wandering around the camp.

A 5-minute drive opens the gate to an invigorating 2.8-mile hike at Millcreek Preserve West, where your precious pooch can join in the fun.. Take the 16-mile trek to Gainsville and be enlightened with outdoor pursuits at every turn. The city is home to the University of Florida and the revered Florida Gators, the town's football team. The Kanapaha Botanical Gardens are a majestic view, while horse lovers will enjoy the Retirement Home for Horses with a few carrots as the entrance fee.

Travelers Campground is one of Florida’s finest, with peak times being summer and the holidays.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
