Tully Lake Recreation Area (MA)

If you're looking to enjoy a good old-fashioned camping experience with your four-legged family member, Tully Lake Recreation Area might just be the paw-fect destination for you. Located south of Royalston, Massachusetts, this beautiful spot offers pet-friendly camping, a host of recreational activities, and plenty of stunning natural scenery.

Set on the shores of a large lake, the campground offers a quintessential New England outdoors experience. Visitors can paddle a kayak or canoe up the scenic Tully Lake, or explore the secluded inlets and islands on the lake. Canoe and kayak rentals are available, while those who prefer to stay on dry land can hire a mountain bike.

Mountain bikers can ride the 7.5-mile trail around Long Pond, while there are also myriad walking opportunities for hikers. Fishing, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and a nearby disc golf course are also available to keep the whole family happy.

When you're ready to set up camp for the night, you'll find this tent-only campground in a secluded and scenic setting. Apart from those sites that are accessible for people with disabilities, all campsites can only be reached on foot. Each site has its own picnic table and grill, and campsite fees start from $30 a night. However, due to the fact that it's a popular destination, you'll need to reserve early to avoid disappointment.

Pets are welcome in the campground but they must be on a leash at all times. You'll also need to provide a copy of proof of your pet's rabies vaccination. Finally, remember to show courtesy to other campers and properly clean up after your dog whenever necessary.
