Description

A 1,360-acre park in Errol, New Hampshire, Umbagog Lake State Park sits on the southern shores of the lake after which it is named. If you're looking for a pet-friendly campground with a whole host of recreational activities and outdoor adventures to enjoy, this park is well worth a visit.

The best place to start your visit to Umbagog Lake State Park is on or around the lake itself. There's a beach area for swimming, excellent fishing opportunities, or the chance to simply enjoy being out and about on the water. Canoe, kayak, and rowboat rentals are available if you don't have your own watercraft. There's a boat launching point and fuel sales available, as well as a park store if you need to stock up on any essentials.

With a huge variety of birds, deer, and moose frequenting the park, it's a popular destination for wildlife watchers. The park also features a playground and some great picnic spots, ensuring there's plenty for the whole family to enjoy whenever you visit.

Pets are welcome in many campsites in Umbagog Lake State Park and in three of the seven cabins. However, they're not permitted in the beach-front day-use area or in remote campsites in the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge.

If you are camping with your furry friend, make sure you always abide by the park's pet rules and regulations. These include only taking your pet into designated pet-friendly areas, and ensuring that your pooch is always on a leash of six feet or less. Pets should never be left unattended and you'll need to take care to clean up after your pet whenever necessary.

Remember these simple rules and you and your pet will have a grrr-eat time in Umbagog Lake State Park. You'll also be doing your part to ensure that beautiful State Parks like this continue to welcome pets with open paws.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
