Unity Lake State Recreation Site

Described as an oasis of green in Oregon's high desert, Unity Lake State Recreation Site offers recreational activities in abundance. At 39 acres in size, it may not be the largest park around, but there's still plenty of reason to visit this secluded nature refuge. And if you feel like taking a day trip, the nearby mining town of Sumpter and Sumpter Valley Dredge State Heritage Area in the Blue Mountains are just a short drive away.

If you're planning on staying the night, Unity Lake State Recreation Site also boasts a seasonal campground which is open from April 1 to October 30 and offers 35 electrical sites with water. There are also two reservable cabins available, one of which is pet-friendly, as well as hiker/biker camping. Electrical sites cost $26 per night and a pet-friendly yurt will set you back $56 per night.

If you're camping with your pet, please note that dogs must be physically restrained at all times (leashes must be no longer than six feet) when not confined to a vehicle or tent. You'll also need to be responsible for cleaning up after your furry friend whenever necessary.
