Come with your friends or family to spend some time in the Pinaleno Mountains at the Upper Hospital Flat Group site. This tent-only facility offers a pawesome place to escape to the mountains and get away from the desert heat. Up to 50 people can stay here, but you'll need to bring porta-potties with you. You'll find a fire ring, a picnic table, and a grill available for your use.
You'll be camping by a meadow and next to Big Creek here. Enjoy the refreshing temperatures of the sky island facility. Take a walk along the water or hike the .75-mile interpretive trail. Read the signs to learn more about the diversity of plants and animals in the area. The fields burst into color with wildflowers in late summer. Look for mule deer, red squirrel, and hawks as you travel.
Return to camp to unwind and recharge as you share a picnic with friends or family. There's a puptacular multi-use roadway that passes near the campground. Follow the winding Swift Trail Scenic Drive on foot, by bike, or in your car. Climb to the peak of Mount Graham in the north or head south to Heliograph Spring. The road stretches from the desert to high mountain ridges and features panoramic vistas.
This facility is a wonderful place to relax with your four-footed pal. The campground requires that you keep your pooch on a leash and remove their poop. Don't tie them out or leave them unattended. Dogs can join you on the trails.
Upper Hospital Flat Group Site offers a pleasant backdrop where you and your pals can relax and enjoy time away. Reserve the facility to guarantee a spot. Up here, you can spend time birdwatching, hiking, and biking. The forest is home to bears. Secure your food, trash, and other scented materials in a storage locker, and clean up after every meal.
