Description

Van Pugh South Campground is a public campground located on the banks of the Sidney Lanier Lake by the Blue Ridge Mountains in Flowery Branch, Georgia. In addition to mountain and lakeside views, the campgroundā€™s patrons will get to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities suitable for the whole family, including its four-legged members. With hundreds of miles of shoreline and miles of nature trails to hike and explore, the campgroundā€™s location makes it the perfect place for wilderness adventures and relaxation outdoors.

The dog-friendly campground is surrounded by lush greenery filled with oak, hickory, and pine trees that add to the peaceful atmosphere and provide plenty of shade to cool off in during the summer. There are a total of 55 private sites available at the campground, 37 of which have water and electricity hookups while the other 18 accommodate tents and start at $16 per night. Most sites overlook the lake, but make sure to call ahead to reserve a prime spot with lakeside views as they get taken fast.

There are flushing toilets and hot showers at the campground, as well as laundry facilities which enable the patrons to combine wilderness camping with some much-appreciated hygiene comforts. Drinking water is available at the campground, as well as a dump station, a playground and a boat ramp for the campers' convenience. Plus, the campground is easily accessible and conveniently located, just ten miles away from a convenience store and restaurants. Although the campground is open to tent and RV camping, vehicles over 26 feet are not allowed on the campā€™s grounds due to the road conditions.

The campgroundā€™s locationĀ is ideal for fishing since the sites are situated right by the water that is filled with fish such as bass and catfish. If you prefer staying on land, make sure to check out the various trails that run throughout the nearby wooded areas. Keep your canine leashed and make sure to clean up after your furry friend during your stay. Lastly, since the sites are located by the water, make sure to pack plenty of bug repellant to keep the mosquitos at bay!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
