White Acres Campground is a family-owned campground located just three miles away from the enchanting town of Bardstown, Kentucky. It primarily accommodates tent and RV camping, but also offers a few basic cabins for rent. The campground is situated in the countryside, among vast fields and mature trees that cast plenty of shade for patrons to relax in. It is the ultimate destination for a romantic getaway in a serene environment and makes for an excellent base for those interested in exploring the famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail.Â
The pet-friendly campground is made up of 44 campsites with partial and full-service hookups, as well as pull-through sites. The sites include 50 amp service, water, and sewage connections. Unlike most campgrounds that offer fire rings at each site, this campground features only one site with a permanent fire ring. Guests are allowed to have fires in designated gravel areas, but it is highly recommended for patrons to bring their own portable fire rings instead.Â
Most of the sites are equipped with picnic tables, and almost all of them are located under lush trees that provide lots of shade. On the plus side, each site comes with its own grassy lawn which the four-legged patrons can roll around in. Sites start at $36 per night but vary depending on hookups. The rental cabins come with air conditioning but not separate restrooms.Â
The campground offers free wifi, which guests remark is very stable throughout the whole campground, which is ideal for those wanting to keep up with work or post those adorable doggy vacation pics. There is also a large pavilion on-site which can be used for reunions or other special occasions. Although there are not many activities at the campground itself, there are numerous attractions nearby -- must-visits include the local distilleries, state parks, and the Civil War Museum.Â
