Bring a group of your friends to Lake Granby in the northern part of Colorado for your next adventure! Willow Creek Group Site allows you and up to 20 of your closest pals to stay on the shores of the Willow Creek Reservoir surrounded by mountain peaks, many of which are bare from the ravaging of the pine beetle.
While there are a few smaller first-come-first-served sites here, the only reservable lot is the group campsite. This large lot is suitable for tents only and has access to its own toilets and water. You'll also find fire rings, a picnic table, and tent pads to make camping easier for you and your gang of friends. Garbage is collected at this facility, so you'll only need to worry about bagging it together and handing it over. The rate for the group lot is $83 per night of stay, and each vehicle that enters must purchase a permit to the Arapaho National Recreation Area at $5 per day (with annual passes being available for purchase at $30).
Willow Creek is full of fun activities that your group can partake in. The reservoir itself is the perfect place to go for a paddle or a row, as no motors are allowed here. The peaceful state of the water also makes it ideal for anglers, who love to try their luck at landing a variety of different species of trout. Any pooch present will be thrilled to hit the many trails with their people, and there are quite a few hiking trails to choose from!
Canine campers can come along for the fun as long as they are always on a hand-held leash. This is important not only to keep them from getting into mischief but also to protect them -- and you -- from any bears that may be around. Further, always pick up and properly dispose of any pet waste to further discourage these large forest inhabitants.Â
If you're looking to arrange your next group trip up in the Colorado mountains, Willow Creek Group Site is a great place to consider.Â
