Description

Winfield Campground rests beside J. Strom Thurmond Lake and Little River. The lake is one of Georgia’s most popular camping destinations because of its peaceful, scenic setting and fun aquatic activities like swimming fishing, and boating. It is no surprise that every year countless campers choose to stay at Winfield to take advantage of these opportunities and also to enjoy the campground’s nice amenities and services. If you’re looking for a place where you can relax, de-stress, and hang out on a lake, then you’ve found the perfect campground! And don’t forget to bring your dog with you — Winfield Campground is pet-friendly.

The campground has 80 sites, and all of the sites have electrical hookups and water hookups. The nightly fee for one of the sites is $26. The campground is also equipped with some convenient amenities that will ensure your stay is pawsome. A boat ramp, a playground, trash collection, a dump station, and showers are all available on the premises.

The campground’s lakeside setting is one of the biggest reasons it is so popular, and the surrounding woods of Mistletoe State Park also contribute to the campground’s fun and relaxing ambiance. The woods have the added benefit of providing lots of shade for the campsites during the hot summer months.

If you’re looking for fun ways to spend your time, you have plenty of options in the surrounding area. Head to the lake for water activities and picnicking or stop by the trails around the lake for hiking and wildlife viewing. For more trails, you can visit Mistletoe State Park. It also has a nature center, which is a great place to get some information about the area’s wildlife, plant species, geography, and local history.

When you’re staying at Winfield Campground, make sure your canine companion remains leashed at all times. Also note that Winfield Campground is an alcohol-free campground.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
