The park is covered in gravel, which can get dusty when it's windy. There are plenty of trees around the park that provide shade to keep you and Fido cool on hot summer days. If you want to take a seat, there are benches around the park to sit and watch Fido. The park also has a hose to keep your dog cool and hydrated, as well as poop bags for your convenience. Dedicated community members work hard to maintain this park, so do your part and pick up your pup's poop.
Make sure your dog is wearing his collar with ID tag and rabies vaccination tag. There is a small dog run and a big dog run, but for either size, make sure your dog returns to you on command. Keep barking to a minimum and if Fido digs any holes, please fill them in.
There are a few entrances to reach this part of the park; a handicap accessible entrance is on W. 72nd and Riverside Drive. There is another entrance on the Henry Hudson Boulevard near W 72nd. This dog park is located at the southern entrance to the Riverside Park, so you could take your dog for a walk on-leash (no longer than six feet) throughout the rest of the park if you want.
