Is your dog bouncing off the walls? Then it must be time for a trip to the dog park! People and pets living in Frederick are lucky to have access to Ballenger Creek Dog Park. This is the pawfect place for your pooch to burn off some of that extra energy!
Situated inside Ballenger Creek Park, this four acre off
leash area is a furvorite spot among local canines. It has not one, not two, not
three, but four separate areas for fur babies to explore. Two of these areas
are for small doggos and two are for breeds of all shapes and sizes. All four
sections have grass and dirt patches. At times the park can get pretty muddy.
Also, after a heavy storm there may be flooding. You may want to bring a towel
so you can wipe your pup’s paws before they get back into the car.
When they arrive, your pooch can check their leash at the
gate and dash and dart around to their heart’s content! There’s more than
enough room for a game of fetch or your pal can just mosey around on their own.
Since it’s a pupular dog park, your pup will always have friends to play with. They
can practice their social skills as they romp and wrestle with their four
legged playmates. When your pal is finished playing, clip their leash on and
take a stroll along the main park’s trail. It’s a great way to let your dog cool off.
The park has shade trees and benches for pet parents.
There are also drinking fountains, however, the water is turned off during the
winter. If you visit the park in the off season, be sure to bring some water
and a bowl for your pooch. Also, don’t forget to bring clean-up bags and always pick up after your beloved pet.Â
No bones about it, your dog will absolutely love this park!
