The Bark Until Dark Dog Park is an off-leash dog park in Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio. This dog park is on the gated resort of Lakeside which is on the shores of Lake Erie and near to the village of Marblehead. To gain access to the resort areas, visitors are required to purchase a Chautauqua Pass.Â
This can be arranged online two weeks prior to the planned visit or at the gates on the day. There are multiple versions of the pass which range from daily ones starting at $23.50 to seasonal passes for $730. The pass not only grants access to the resort for vehicle, driver, passengers, and pet but includes admission to the Hoover Auditorium shows and a wellness facility too.Â
Pet parents must keep their pup leashed at all times unless they are in the off-leash dog park. Dogs are not allowed at the lakeside dock or near the children's play area. Pets are also not permitted on the premises of the Hotel Lakeside or Fountain Inn unless they are service dogs.Â
There are some places on the lake shores which are designated swimming areas. Dogs are not allowed to swim in any of these until after regular operating hours have ceased. Pups can begin to enjoy their vacation break when they are unleashed in the dog park. There's plenty of space for them to let off any pent-up frustration too. The two enclosures are size orientated and the big dogs, over thirty pounds, have the larger compound.Â
Both pup runs are fenced, have combination surfaces of grass and gravel, waste stations and water supply. The entire resort, not just the off-leash areas, have dispensers for mutt mitts and owners are politely requested to make sure they use them. Pet parents are also asked to read and abide by the rules for the dog park, which are posted on the gates of the staging area.
