Treat your pooch to a visit to Big Arm/ Flathead State Park. Your doggo can escape their everyday cares as they explore the park’s gorgeous terrain. Nestled on the shores of Flathead Lake’s Big Arm Bay, this furrific park is calling your pup’s name!
Pack a couple sleeping bags and stay a night or two at
the park. The campground is chock full of beautiful ponderosa pines and juniper
trees. Choose from among 41 furrific sites that can accommodate both RVs and
tents. To help keep campers safe, bear resistant storage lockers are available
to use. Drinking water, fire pits, boat trailer parking, and coin operated
showers are also available. At the end of the day, your furry friend will love
chillaxing by the campfire and looking up at the starry sky. Sounds puptacular!
Since the park sits right on the lake’s shore, you can
imagine that boating and fishing are pupular activities. Bring along your
fishing pole and see if you can pull in a lake trout. Or, if you have a boat,
cruise around the water and let your pup feel the wind in their fur. You can
also paddle board, swim, water ski, or scuba dive. The park is often used as a access
point for Wild Horse Island, a puptacular spot that can only be reached by
boat.
Go for a walk on one of the hiking trails so your pup can
get some much needed exercise. Choose between Bluebird Boulevard Trail and Juniper
Jaunt Trail, or take both! Together they clock in around 2.5 miles. Your
pupster will be in heaven as they meander along the trail and soak up the
beautiful scenery. Make sure you have plenty of water on hand, and don’t forget
the to bring a clean up bag or two.
For a puptastic time in the great outdoors, take your pup to Big Arm/Flathead State Park!
