If your pup is bouncing off the walls, bring them the Bloomingdale Dog Park to blow off some steam! Nestled in a quiet side of the 138-acre Bloomingdale Park, this fully fenced pooch playground provides a safe environment for Staten Island's canine citizens to enjoy some off-leash exercise and play.Â
You and Fido will find the dog park on Maguire Avenue, near Ramona Avenue and behind the athletic fields. The facility is divided into two separate runs for large and small doggos, with both sections surrounded by a chain-link fence for the pups' security. While inside the enclosure, it is every dog parent's responsibility to watch their furry charges. Make sure your pupper plays nice and minds their manners, so that everyone can have a pawsitive experience.
The Bloomingdale Dog Park is a no-frills facility, so you won't find any agility obstacles or kiddie pools here. That said, it would be a good idea to bring a ball or frisbee for your pooch to fetch. Don't forget to bring water, too, as there are no drinking fountains on-site. Doggie waste bags are provided, though; be sure to stoop and scoop if Fido goes to the bathroom.Â
If your canine buddy still has energy to burn after playing at the dog park, take them for a leashed walk around the main site. Bloomingdale Park features hiking and running trails, including a paved path that encircles the entire grounds. Some of the trails run through wooded areas, making them pawfectly suited for strolls on warm days. If you and your pooch need to pawse and rest, picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the park provide several spots to sit. Remember, Fido must be on a 6-foot leash when outside the dog park.Â
Let your pawsome pal stretch their legs sans leash at the Bloomingdale Dog Park!
