The Braeburn Addition Off-Leash Dog Area is located on the outskirts of Rapid City, South Dakota. The dog park has its own large parking lot. This dog park is a beautiful, spacious stretch of parkland which has been designated as an area solely for the off-leash exercising of dogs. It is a zone with a real countryside feel. Covered by a combined grass and dirt surface throughout, the off-leash area is well wooded with mature trees. There is also a creek running through the dog park. Dogs are permitted to play and swim in the water.
Pet owners wishing to use the Braeburn Addition Dog Park should realize it is not enclosed by fencing. All dogs being exercised off-leash should be under good voice control. There is one small area that has been fenced with wooden panels for small dogs and young dogs who have yet to be fully trained to command. There is a poop bag dispenser fitted inside this area but there are not any throughout the rest of the dog park. Owners must make sure they have an adequate supply of poop bags with them when using the facility. All fecal matter must be picked up and disposed of responsibly. Pet owners should realize that because of the overall size of the dog park, cleaning up after their dog could involve a lengthy walk.
All dogs wishing to use the dog park facility should be correctly vaccinated and licensed with the local authorities. Any dog displaying aggressive or anti-social behavior should be leashed immediately and removed from the dog park. No dog must be left unaccompanied in the off-leash area. Owners should maintain visual contact with their dog at all times. Children under twelve are not allowed entry into the off-leash areas. Those over the age of twelve must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
