Bubba’s Happy Tails Dog Park is a public dog park located in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. The park is fenced and has a simple but spacious layout consisting of two separate, double-gated dog areas. One enclosure accommodates smaller breeds (35 lbs and under) and senior dogs while the other is perfect for larger canines. Both areas are labeled and provide plenty of space for both breed types to freely run around and explore in. There are also a couple of benches placed throughout the off-leash areas, allowing owners to keep their canine buddies in sight during playtime.
There is a drinking fountain that is in service during the warmer months, so make sure to bring some water and a bowl for your pooch in the winter season to prevent him from getting dehydrated. The dog park has varied terrain and part of the park is sloped, allowing dogs to run up and down the hill as they chase after toys with their four-legged buddies.Â
It is a really great place for active dogs with lots of energy to expel. The surface is grassy so things do get muddy when it rains and owners need to be more careful not to slip on the slope. Bringing a towel for your canine’s paws is also a good idea. Dogs love this park because it has tall, mature trees growing throughout the grounds, plenty of bushes to smell and mark, as well as a fire hydrant because ...well because dogs like fire hydrants.
Though there are plenty of trash cans, dog waste bags are not provided so don’t forget to bring your own plastic bags to clean up after your pooch. There is a picnic area, a playground nearby and a golf course. There are restrooms just a few minutes walk away which is very convenient especially if you end up spending the whole day at this lovely park with your furry friend.Â
