Description

Keystone State Park is comprised of over 1,200 acres of outdoor fun for the whole family, including camping and hiking, as well as boating, kayaking, and canoeing on the lake. The park is open year-round, sunrise to sunset. The office is only open during specific hours and the beach, overnight areas, and other areas are subject to seasonal closures. Contact the park office for additional hours and availability. Reservations are also available in advance by calling the park office or online through the park website.

Boats are available for rental through Northwest Kayak and Canoe. Additionally, the park often hosts all kinds of events for children like nature hikes or scavenger hunts. You can check the park’s website for a full event schedule. The park offers a number of environmental education programs from March through October to help visitors to better understand and appreciate natural and cultural resources. Those programs include guided hikes, hands-on activities, and other informational programs.

Pets are permitted in Keystone State Park in the day-use areas, campgrounds, and specially-designated cabins, cottages, and yurts, as well as all other areas not closed to pets. Pets are restricted in swimming areas, inside buildings, and in any area marked as a pet-free area. Additionally, dogs must remain leashed and physically under control at all times, which may include in crates or cages. Tethers tied to trees, anchored in the ground, or tied to porches aren’t allowed. Pets should never be left unattended.

Visitors should also engage in common courtesy when taking their dog to Keystone State Park, which includes cleaning up after your pet and keeping your dog from becoming a nuisance to other visitors. Aggressive dogs, those without rabies vaccines, or dogs who bark excessively are not permitted. If you’re looking for plenty of beautiful outdoor activities in Pennsylvania, Keystone State Park is a great place to spend some time, whether you’re looking for overnight camping or just daytime fun, it has something for everyone.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
