Buckskin Mountain State Park

The Buckskin Mountain State Park welcomes dogs on a leash. This fantastic park offers picturesque views of the Colorado River and mountains located in Arizona and California. All dogs need to be vaccinated for rabies and have a license before visiting this park. You also need to display the tags on your dog’s collar. 

Camping with your dog is a great bonding experience. This incredible park offers up to 60 campsites opportunities. Some of the campsites have 30 amp electric and water. The hiking trails are excellent to explore with your dog, as long as they are on a leash. There’s a variety of trails such as ½ mile winding roundtrip adventure of Lightning Bolt Trail. This hiking trail allows you to view the Colorado River and the campground. You can extend your hiking adventure by accessing the Buckskin Trail which is a one-mile loop. 

You should always bring the right equipment with you while hiking, which includes hiking boots and a backpack with supplies. Make sure you bring along fresh bottled water and a bowl for your dog. You can also step-it-up by getting doggie hiking boots to protect their paws from the natural terrain they will endure on the hike. You should also consider the hot temperature of paved areas of the hiking trail during the summer months.
