Bug Light Park Off Leash Dog Area

This park is not specifically intended to be a dog park. Many of the amenities your typical dog park might provide you may not find at this location. Dog waste bags are not readily available, so you need to bring your own, though garbage cans are for you to throw your waste in. What makes this park special is that it is designated off leash. 

You can enjoy time with your canine, even playing long-range games like frisbee or fetch, in a wide-open field, provided there is not too much traffic. The views at this park are quite remarkable. It backs up to the water so you can watch the boats go by while relaxing in the grass on the sun. The grounds are well maintained and stay very green.

The city requires vaccination verification and tags will be provided. The rules are enforced by the city, dialing 311 within the city will get you in touch with the authorities for unruly canines. The rules are clearly posted at the start of the off-leash designated zone. Your canine is required to remain in sight and under voice control at all times. 

A wandering canine in this area could easily get quite lost through the Bug Light Park Off Leash Dog Area here as there is no fence or any other form of barrier in which could limit their movement. This park is also often highly trafficked for events and festival being thrown at this location.

The remainder of the park is also gorgeous, though will require a leash. It houses a historic and gorgeous lighthouse and a memorial to a ship that sank at the park. The open space is often used for a variety of activities, from runners who wish to run along the beach, to bikers, to people just wanting to sunbathe or enjoy the views. Overall this makes for an amazing place to come with your canine.
