For a pawsome canine hangout in the DMV area, look no further than the Cabin John Dog Park! Located just off the Beltway and Interstate 270, this pooch playground is outfitted with various amenities to keep your furry friend's tail wagging. Though it's nestled in a secluded part of town and not close to any residential areas, dog parents say it's well worth the drive!
You and Fido will find the dog exercise area in the northeastern portion of the Cabin John Regional Park, not far from the miniature train. The wooded area comprises two separate sections for large and small puppers, allowing canines of similar sizes to run, sniff, and mingle with one another. If your pooch weighs 20 pounds or less, bring them to the small dog area so that they can play without worrying about getting knocked down by the big guys. Both sections are fully fenced and double gated for the safety of all four-legged park users, but all pup parents are still expected to keep a watchful eye on their charges.
Aside from offering plenty of room for off-leash romping, the dog park includes rock sculptures for climbing and running through, pawfect for keeping Fido mentally stimulated. Doggie waste bags, trash cans, human and canine drinking fountains, benches, and shelters with picnic tables are provided as well. A good portion of the park is nicely shaded thanks to several trees, and the wood chip surface keeps your pupper's paws comfortable as they chase after their furry pals.
A couple of impawtant reminders: stay in visual contact with your pooch at all times, scoop the poop when they answer nature's call, and make sure they're wearing their current license and rabies vaccination tags.
A puptastic time awaits your four-legged best friend at the Cabin John Dog Park!
