Cahuilla Hills Park and Trail

Cahuilla Hills Park offers 27 acres of undeveloped open space in Palm Desert, California for residents and visitors to enjoy. Serving mainly as a hiking park, there are plenty of other areas to spend a furbulous afternoon with your pup. You can find parking conveniently located right at the start of the park, across from the Desert Cities Baptist Church.

This pawtastic park serves as a trailhead for the Cahuilla Hills Trail System, and features such trails as the Hopalong Cassidy Trail, Mike Schuller Trail or the Bump and Grind Trail. Jumping on the Gabby Hayes Trail right off the entry drive of Edgehill can link you to these woofderful trails. Enjoy mesmerizing Palm Desert views as you and your pup hike this natural space. If you take the Hopalong Trail south to the Homestead Trail, you'll enter the Cap Homme/ Ralph Adams Park where you'll find a designated off leash area where your pup can run free.

Apart from hiking trails, Cahuilla Park also offers picnic areas and pavilions if you need a rest, or fancy a snack or meal in this scenic area. For the two leggeds in your crew, the park also offers pickleball courts and a tennis court. 

Your pup will love trekking the trails, or romping in the other areas of this park with you, just be sure to keep that leash on anywhere you travel within Cahuilla Hills Park. Given the park’s location and the often hot temperatures, bring plenty of water to share with your pup, and pay extra attention to your dog's paws during the summer months. And always have clean-up bags on hand so that you can do your part in keeping this woofderful park clean.
