Cedar Lake Wayside Off Leash Dog Area

In the town of Westbend, there is a 3-acre swath of open and grassy fields called the Cedar Lake Wayside Off-Leash Dog Area. This is not a fenced park and so you must be sure that your canine will stay within sight and under voice command at all times. An untrained and off-leash canine could easily make for the hills, or so to say. Even some of the trails through the woods here are paved to make it easy for people to come through on wheelchairs, making it accessible to the handicapped.

This park does provide shelters, picnic seating, and BBQ grills. This makes it a place that is fun to take the whole family. There is enough room to play some games such as fetch or frisbee. There are restrooms available and water available for you to give your dog, though you should bring your own bowl. 

Bags are available to clean up after your canine as well as disposal bins freely available. The park is regularly maintained and remains a nice grassy pasture throughout the warmer months. Restrooms are available for you but the rules state your canine is not allowed in any of the facilities or on any of the nearby sports fields.

This park is quite large though. Frisbee golf is set up through the park and there are plenty of different hiking trails you can take your canine through. All of these, again, are off leash with your canine. During the spring and summer, fishing is available and your canine can frolick along the shore of the pond.

There is seating with shade, areas for children to play, and trails all along the lake and through the woods. The scenery provided by the abundant vegetation is gorgeous. Overall, this makes for a great park to bring your canine and your family to enjoy the trails or enjoy a picnic.
