This membership-only dog park gives your pup a chance to socialize in a safe environment. The College Park Dog Park at Acredale is covered in primarily grass and has water fountains for your pup. Trees are dispersed throughout the park, giving your four-legged friend an excellent place to pee, sniff, or just get some shade.Â
There are several benches for you to sit on as you watch your pooch play. There is also a drinking fountain for your best friend, but make a note that in the colder months, you'll need to bring your own water and bowl, as the water gets shut off in the winter.
All dogs must have their rabies vaccine up to date, and the bordetella vaccination is recommended. All dogs must be spayed or neutered. If you have a young dog or a dog that is new to socializing, you can set up a controlled visit through the College Park Dog Park Association to help evaluate your dog's behavior and interactions with other pups.Â
The fenced-in dog park is accessible only by electronic code that is available when you become a member. Membership fees cost $30 per household, plus $10 for each additional dog. The official website offers multiple contacts for the College Park Dog Park Association, and you can contact them with any questions about registering your pup.Â
Becoming a member gives you access to an exclusive community. Members coordinate playdates through WhatsApp, share pictures of their pups, have access to a database of other dogs, and know that the dogs in the park have been vaccinated, socialized, and have responsible owners.Â
The park is maintained by the College Park Dog Park Association, and their website explains their goal is to have members who are passionate about dogs. You must also be a responsible pet owner and willing to pitch in. You need to pick up after your pooch and should be interested in providing their dogs with chances to exercise.Â
