One of the enclosures has been reserved for use by dogs deemed small, meaning weighing less than 25 pounds. This play space would also be suitable for dogs who are more timid by nature. An additional enclosure is provided for use by large dogs with a third run set aside for training opportunities. With safety of paramount concern, owners are asked to keep a leash handy at all times.
Additionally, dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the play areas as well as in all public places. Cottonwood Dog Park proudly invites all pooches and their people to freely enjoy their property at no cost. The dog runs are complete with many amenities to help enrich Fido's day of fun. Included in the play spaces are the following items: wading pools, water access, benches, and picnic tables.
Also housed in the ball field section of Riverfront Park are bathrooms for public use. Poop bags are not provided by the park; however, visitors to this space note that fellow dog owners have left a container full of plastic bags which would be suitable for this purpose. All pet waste removal must be completed by owners.
Nearby Riverfront Park offers many great recreational opportunities to suit every member of the family. Some of the outdoor attractions include ball fields, sand volleyball courts, horseshoes, a disc golf course, trails, and a playground. Dogs are welcome in Riverfront Park but must remain on a leash there.
Cottonwood Dog Park earns high marks from visitors for its close proximity to the historic section of downtown Cottonwood proper. The park has not instituted many rules for those visiting their park space to observe; however, both vaccinations and a city dog license are required. Looking for a new park for Fido to explore? Why not bring him for a play date at Cottonwood Dog Park?
