Cricket Field Dog Park

When your furry BFF needs to get the wiggles out, bring them to the Johnston Dog Park for some exercise! Not only is this off-leash dog run pawfectly suited for unfettered play, but it's also a furrific spot for Fido to meet new pals! 

Located within Woodlake Park, the Johnston Dog Park sits behind the softball complex and is just a short walk from the parking area. Go around the softball fields to find a clearing in the woods, and you'll be greeted by a sign bearing the dog park's hours and rules. Note that all doggos using the facility must be licensed before getting their paw in the double gates! 

Though minimally furnished, the ruffly half-acre dog area has been designed with its visitors' comfort in mind. A clay surface keeps ticks at bay, while trees around the perimeter provide ample shade. Benches give dog parents places to sit as they keep an eye on their furry charges. Since there is no separate enclosure for small or timid pups, your dog will be mingling with canines of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. However, visitors say there are times when they have the area to themselves, so have a ball or frisbee handy in case there are no other pups to play with. Or, invite a furry friend for a doggie play date at the park!

Be sure to stoop and scoop. Doggie waste bags and trash receptacles are provided for easy clean-up. Water isn't available, though, so remember to bring your own. If your canine companion still isn't tired after spending some time in the dog park, there is a nearby nature trail that you both can tackle to burn off that boundless energy.
