Located off Crystal Lake Drive and adjacent to Willamette Park, Crytal Lake Sports Field Dog Park. The off-leash area is not accessible for pooches from April to October because it is used for numerous sports. Pooches only get to enjoy it with their pet parents during winter, and there are no fences so dog owners must practice caution.
Dog owners always need to clean up after their pets and bring their scooper bags as the park does not provide any. The absence of dog scooper bags is not an excuse not to clean up after your pooches. Large and small dogs are not separated, so it is up to the pet parent to ensure that their little dogs are safe and not trampled upon by the larger canines.
There is a trail that provides a neat opportunity to explore a section of the Willamette River that is still considered wild. There are numerous trail options, depending on the time of the year. It is not uncommon to see dog lovers and pet parents throwing frisbees or balls and canines running in pursuit. It is best to stay on the main gravel or paved trails with your dog during winter.Â
The trail at Crytal Lake Sports Field Dog Park starts through the sports park which is mostly full of children during summer. It is quite obvious so you will not get lost if you keep to the river to your right or left, depending on the direction you are going and the primary path to your other side.
There is water available in the park both for pet parents and their furbabies, so everyone stays hydrated while having fun. If you would like some added entertainment, you can watch people playing frisbee golf with your ever loyal pooch by your side. There are also bathrooms in the vicinity so it should not be a problem if you need to use the toilet while out on a stroll.Â
