Make sure your dog stays on a leash until he is inside the park. The five-acre park is situated along North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on the northeast side and Union Street on the southwest side. Because of its location along busy streets, it's important your dog responds to your call. Also, make sure your pup is wearing his collar with ID tags and license. He must be vaccinated to enter the park and dogs in heat are not allowed in the park.
Aggressive dogs are not allowed in the park and should be removed at the first sign of aggression towards other dogs or humans. If you're new to the park scene, take your dog at a slow time during the day which is probably around 10 am or so. Your dog can get used to sniffing this new place and then meet dogs without being overwhelmed by a whole pack of pals. Children are welcome in the park but must be supervised by an adult. And owners cannot have more than three dogs in the park at once. If you're planning a puppy party, bring a few human friends with you to balance out the guest list.
