Estabrook Dog Park
Others remark that they love Estabrook Park's close proximity to downtown Milwaukee, making a trip there after a day of shopping a convenient option. Situated on three acres of land are several fenced play areas which are conducive to off-leash play. To ensure that small, shy, and elderly dogs have a safe space to romp and play off-lead, one of the enclosures has been designed with their needs in mind. Here, a gentler play style is adopted. With the utmost of safety precautions in mind, owners are required to have a leash with them at all times.
Estabrook Park Dog Exercise Area is a private facility, and entrance to their grounds is fee-based. Day passes can be purchased for $5; however, annual memberships are encouraged. To obtain a membership, the cost is $25 for residents of Milwaukee and $30 for those residing elsewhere. To add a dog to an existing membership, it is an additional $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.
At the time of application, owners must also submit proof of the following vaccinations: rabies, distemper, and parvovirus. A city dog license and completed application form must also be provided at the time of registration. To access the dog playground, all dogs must be wearing collars which prominently display their Dog Exercise Area tag as well as their rabies and city dog license tags.
It is important to note that prong, choke, and spike collars are never permitted at Estabrook Park Dog Exercise Area. Estabrook Park Dog Exercise Area is home to many benches in areas that offer lots of shade. Owners are invited to recline in comfort and enjoy watching their dogs at play. Though owners are required to pick up after their pets, it is not known if poop bags are provided on the premises.
Since it is unknown if a water source or bathroom is housed on the property, it is best for owners to bring all of the items with them that they may need for a day at the park including bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags.
