Description
Farewell Bend State Dog Park is housed within Farewell Bend State Recreation Area in Huntington, Oregon. Aptly named as the place where early pioneers rested prior to bidding "farewell" to their beloved Snake River, this enchanting space is a wonderland of pristine natural beauty. Visitors flock to this picturesque site to reconnect with nature and escape the rigors of city life. Dogs are welcome at this pet-friendly camping facility. 

Entrance to the park space is $3 per day, but annual passes can be purchased for $25. Campground spaces are available by reservation and are fee-based. Visitors to the park can choose from 91 RV spots or 30 sites suitable for tent living. Also on site are two cabins for rent on a seasonal basis, one of which is pet-friendly.

This stunning camping site boasts of a true desert experience and shoreline views of Snake River's Brownlee Reservoir. Among the water sports available at this tranquil getaway are fishing, waterskiing, and boating. Fancy some recreational activities on land? The beach areas offer spaces for volleyball on the sand, and there are also horseshoe pits on the property.

For those who love watching wildlife in its natural habitat, Farewell Bend State Recreation Area is paradise. A stroll through the property will reveal many different species of animals including chukars, quail, deer, and eagles. Bathrooms with shower facilities are available on-site for public use, and there is a plentiful fresh water supply to help keep Fido hydrated during his visit to this park. Also for sale on the property are firewood and ice, two camping essentials. 

Though visitors to this park do make mention of benches and a fenced play area for dogs, it is unknown how many enclosures are housed on the property. It is also not known if dogs are permitted to play off-lead in any designated dog areas. However, it is required that dogs remain on a leash when visiting other sections of the camping facility.

Looking to enjoy a picnic lunch? This dog friendly natural landscape offers picnic areas with fire pits suitable for late night wiener roasts or singalongs by the fire. It is unknown if complimentary poop bags are provided on the premises. Owners are required to carry bags with them to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste. 

Though no posted regulations govern the use of this public space, it is highly recommended that all dogs be current on vaccinations.
