There are some benches for the owners to sit and watch Fido run around and there is a bag dispenser in case you forgot to bring yours. Make sure you clean up after your dog and keep this community-loved park clean. The green turf, which was laid in the summer of 2017, limits the mud after rain, keeping your pup's paws clean. The park is located near an underpass, and there is metered street parking available at the Eggleston Avenue entrance. The large dog entrance can be accessed at the intersection of Van Meter Street and Court Street, near the Mt. Adams pedestrian bridge.
Regular visitors say parking is available under 471 or on the surface lot of Eggleston. Before parking, make sure you are parking in a legal spot and not trespassing. As with any dog park, make sure your dog is up-to-date on his vaccinations and is wearing his collar with tags. If you've never been to a dog park with your pup, take him at a not so busy time so he can acclimate with ease. Monitor your dog as he plays and make sure he responds to your call.
This park was made possible by a $50,000 donation from Proctor and Gamble Pet Care Division and Balls Around the Block assisted in significant fundraising throughout the years. It is managed by volunteers, who are instrumental in keeping the park clean. The city does not manage the park.
