There's a pup paradise sitting on the Menomonee River in the muttropolis of Milwaukee! While the river along the Granville Dog Park is more like a stream featuring gently gurgling water and plenty of rocks to climb on, pups who love the water will have a ball swimming here!
This large, 10-acre park is mostly undeveloped and offers plenty of room for humans and their fur babies to run and explore its grassy fields, hills, and pathways. A fence encloses three sides of the dog park, with the river guarding the fourth. Bountiful trees and shrubs offer shade and shelter, and the park’s location is peacefully tucked away from the inner city. There isn't, however, a separate space for small pups, so be sure your wee canine can hang with the big dogs before visiting.
While benches are not provided in this semi-wild area, it’s likely your doggo will keep you moving as they sniff out every inch of this furtastic playground. It’s important to bring water for hydration, and a bowl or dog bottle for Fido.
Before heading for the park, be sure your pooch is licensed and immunized for rabies, parvo, and distemper. An annual or day pass needs to be visible on the pup's collar to gain entrance, and can be purchased online or at the gate. Residents of Menonomee County pay $5 for a day pass or $15 - $30 for an annual pass.
Cleaning up after your fur baby is required and packing a few waste bags into your pocket will keep you from being short-handed. Since this is untamed space, there are no human restrooms in the park, so plan accordingly.
If you haven’t visited Granville Dog Park, there’s no time like the present! They’ll love it, and so will you!
