The Greenbriar Dog Park is located at the Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital and Luxury Pet Resort in Frederick, Urbana, Maryland. There is adequate parking close to the main facilities. The park is an off-leash area for exercising dogs. The off-leash area consists of two large fields in a rustic setting.Â
One part of the dog park is specifically reserved for use by small dogs. Both areas are enclosed with wooden trunk fencing covered in welded wire mesh and cover a surface area of around one and a half acres each. The installation is bordered by trees, but there are no trees inside the off-leash area. It is open to the elements. The dog park is surfaced in both parts with natural grass. It can get muddy after heavy rainfall.
There is no fee charged to use the dog park, but pet owners wishing to use the facility are required to register at the resort's reception desk. All dogs are required to have current vaccinations including rabies and the correct license from the Maryland authorities. Dogs displaying aggressive behavior are not permitted entry into the dog park. Poop bags are not provided on-site and pet owners must take their own supply. Owners are required to clean up all fecal matter produced by their pet.Â
It is a large open area for dogs to run in so picking up can involve a lengthy walk. Owners are requested to dispose of pet poop in a fully responsible manner. There is no water fountain installed at the dog park. There are buckets of water provided for canines, but these can be empty on occasions so pet owners are advised to take a supply of bottled water and drinking bowl for their dog. This is especially relevant during hot weather. There is a large summer house with benches for owners to sit in.
