Historic Fourth Ward Park

The Historic Fourth Ward Park is considered by many as Atlanta's best new urban oasis. This 17 acre park is located just south of the Ponce City Market, nestled into the Fourth Ward neighborhood. It's adjacent to the Atlanta Beltline, which connects it to Piedmont Park and Freedom Park, so if 17 acres isn't enough, there are plenty of ways to extend the adventure. The park has a seemingly endless amount of things to do, and is guaranteed fun for everyone in the family, including the family dog!  

Parking is available in the striped spaces on the streets surrounding the park. The park has all the necessary facilities, including trash receptacles and restrooms located in the green building next to the playgrounds. You and your doggo can explore the park by means of elegant walkways, that are pawpular among dog walkers and joggers. On your travels you'll come across open, passive lawns, ideal for a picnic, a game of frisbee, or simply lounging in the cool grass. 

One of the main features of the park is the 2 acre Clear Creek Basin. This lake functions as a storm water detention basin and is just one of the many sustainable features of the park. Swimming and fishing in the lake is prohibited. There is an amphitheater located at one end of this scenic lake, which can be used for concerts and events, or informal performances. You and your pal might be lucky enough to catch a free show! 

This park has many other furtastic features, including a splash pad open from May until October, a world-class skate park, and playgrounds with something for people of every age. Kids might have a challenge finding the time to try everything! Puppers are welcome throughout all the outdoor areas of the park, as long as they stay on good behavior, stay leashed, and are picked up after. Bring ny essentials for a fun day at the park, including water and clean up bags.
