Since small, shy, and senior dogs can get trampled in a setting conducive to more rambunctious play, one of the enclosures has been designed for their use. Though Horizon Dog Park encourages dogs to enjoy off-leash time, it is important for owners to maintain access to a lead as a safety measure.Â
With all of the items on-site that make for a great dog park, Horizon Dog Park's runs contain water fountains to help keep Fido and his friends well-hydrated. There is also an on-site water feature which helps to lubricate the dry red dirt to keep the surfaces from becoming too dusty. This area can be particularly prone to flooding.Â
With this in mind, owners should bring towels with them when visiting the park after a bout of rain. Poop bags are not provided on the premises, so it is wise for owners to bring some from home. It is the expectation of park officials that all owners will clean up after their dogs.Â
Entrance to Horizon Dog Park is extended to the public at no cost. On-site amenities for owners to enjoy include a large shelter and benches in well-shaded areas. Fountains for human use are also installed on the premises; though, unfortunately, there is no bathroom at this facility.
The Horizon Dog Park has not instituted any rules governing the use of this dog playground. However, to ensure your dog is protected from disease, vaccinations are always recommended. A city dog license would also not go amiss. For a great day visiting a fun park, bring Fido to Horizon Dog Park!
