Howard Street Dog Park

The Howard Street Dog Park is an off-leash dog park in Baltimore, Maryland. This dog park is one for neighborhood pups to get some off-leash time in and most users of the facility arrive on foot. Parking would need to be searched for on the sides of the surrounding streets as there is no parking lot nearby. 

This dog park in Baltimore has recently been renovated to a very attractive standard. It has paved patios and pathways, park benches, and turfed mounds for the dogs to scamper over. Surrounded by trees which provide a good level of shade, this dog park is a little haven for any dog which lives in an urban environment. 

There are busy streets around the off-leash areas, but pet parents don't need to be concerned about their furbabies safety as the enclosures are fenced, and there is a double-gated staging area so they can be unleashed without fear of them running into the road. The dog park also has a hose and water fountain so pups can get a drink and freshen up too. 

While there are separate runs for large and small breeds, neither one is exactly huge so when the park is busy, as it can be, pet parents need to supervise their dogs and make sure they don't get on top of each other. Shortage of space can often mean dogs get in each other's faces quite quickly, and fights or scuffles start sooner than they might in a bigger dog park. 

Wise pet parents are the ones who have learned the correct techniques for intervening in canine squabbles and know how to maintain a good level of social harmony amongst the fur buddies.
