Shaded by plenty of trees and with benches to provide respite, this tranquil spot is an ideal play place. Fresh drinking water is provided for all canine visitors, and there are bathroom facilities on the premises for owners to make use of if needed.Â
Visitors to the park note that the 4 foot fencing located in the enclosures may be too low for some dogs. Dogs who are prone to climbing or escaping fences will need extra attentive observation from their owners to prevent mishaps. It has also been noted that the small dog pen can be prone to crowding.
A fan favorite amongst dog park goers, this park receives high accolades for its beauty and cleanliness. But Howe Park is not just home to much beloved dog facility. It also has many attractions for families to enjoy.
Howe Park offers tennis courts, soccer fields, picnic areas, and barbecues for public use. It also contains a creek which is a favored spot for fishing. For families wishing to do some walking time with Fido, the park also is home to a 1-mile walking trail.
Though it is not known if Howe Avenue Dog Park provides poop bags for the removal of canine waste products, it is required that dog owners carry bags with them and swiftly pick up and properly discard their dog's feces. It is recommended that canine visitors to the park be current on all vaccinations and bear proof of their required state dog license via a tag.
Though the dog enclosures are off leash, park officials request that all dogs be taken to and from the play areas on lead to ensure the safety of all visitors to the park. Access to this public park is free of charge for all dogs and their families.Â
It is important to note that Howe Avenue Park is located adjacent to Howe Avenue, an exceptionally busy stretch of road. Care must be taken to supervise your dog at all times while on the premises but also to exercise extra precautionary measures when your dog is off lead.Â
For a family fun day you'll never forget, take Fido and the kids to Howe Avenue Dog Park!
