Heading out on the open road with your furry BFF? Then you will eventually need to find a dog friendly rest area. If you happen to be traveling down Interstate 10 around Mile Marker 4.5, the Quartzsite Rest Area Eastbound is the pawfect place to stop and let your pup get some fresh air. Located just 10 minutes past the California border, this Arizona rest area is both inviting and convenient.
When you pull off the freeway, you will find a pawsome
rest area where your doggo can get out of the car and stretch their legs. They
need to be on leash when trotting around the pawperty, but there is a
designated doggy zone. Just keep in mind that this is the desert and the ground
can get pretty hot during the summer months. Touch the dirt before your pal
walks around to make sure it isn’t too warm for their paws. Also, there isn’t
much shade, so have some cold water available for them. Just don’t let them
drink too much or you will be stopping again in a couple hours!
In addition to plenty of parking spots, two legged
visitors will be happy to know there are restrooms. Drinking fountain and water
spigots are available, so take this opportunity to fill up all your water
bottles. Since there are also garbage cans, you can empty all the garbage that’s
accumulated during your road trip. There are also a few picnic tables with
shelters and a large kiosk that has infurmation about the area.
All in all this is furrific rest stop that gives your pal
a place to get some of their wiggles out. Do your part to keep it smelling
fresh by picking up whatever your pup puts down, and be sure to have clean-up bags on hand. No bones about it, your dog will
be glad to spend some time at this rest stop!
