Most people visit park areas like the Independence Mine State Historic Park in Alaska to experience the beauty, the relaxation, and the adventure. This park's historic establishment came through the discovery of gold. The Independence Mine State Historic Park was even once two different mining areas until the Alaska-Pacific Consolidated Mining Company purchased the area, making it into one state park.

When you come and visit the Independence Mine State Historic Park, you will find many different amenities that are available for your enjoyment. You will find a visitor center, a museum, different available tours, history of mining, and availability for wildlife viewing, hiking, cross-country skiing, sledding, and so much more. 

Your dog can also come and visit the Independence Mine State Historic Park with you, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay, and they must remain by your side at all times. During your visit to the Independence Mine State Historic Park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the state park authorities. 

Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home. Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to this park as the Independence Mine State Historic Park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. 

Pet parents should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in this park. If you wish to visit the park, you must come during a certain time of year. The Independence Mine State Historic Park is only open from mid-June until Labor Day.
