The Indian Creek Dog Run is a newer addition to Indian Creek Park, a 46-acre area that allows dogs on-leash. The Dog Run is adjacent to the 18-hole disc golf course and is a designated off-leash area. Waste bags and containers are provided for your convenience to help keep the park clean for visitors, and the park rules state that you must clean up after your animal companions.
The Indian Creek Dog Run features trees, a natural prairie, and the Little Manitowoc River, which runs along the center of the park. The Dog Run area is not fenced-in, so if you have dogs which tend to run wide, it may be best to keep them on-leash. The park also features a pedestrian bridge that runs over the river between disc golf holes 15 and 16, allowing you to explore more areas with your pup.
In addition to the natural exploration your dogs can enjoy, the park also has agility props for your dog to play with and on. There are multiple on-leash exercise areas as well, giving you a variety of areas to explore and enjoy with your pets. However, there is no designated “small dog” area, so if you have a dog which is smaller or shy this park may be overwhelming.
The dog park has pretty simple rules. They ask that your dogs be vaccinated and wearing a collar at all times and have a limit of three dogs per person per visit. They also request that you don’t leave your dog unattended and prohibit puppies under 4 months of age and prohibit any dogs with a known history of dangerous behavior, as the park is open to families and children.
The Indian Creek Dog Run, and by extension the Indian Creek Park, are great places for social dogs to visit and explore. The activities available make the park a fun place for the whole family.
