The dog playground is housed on one acre of property with the surrounding Riverbend Recreation Area offering 129 acres of pristine natural terrain which is home to a number of different wildlife species. K-9 Field of Dreams Dog Park boasts of several spaces which are fully fenced where dogs can enjoy play time completely off-lead. To meet the needs of smaller dogs, there is a section reserved for use by dogs weighing 30 lbs or less.
Though the park does encourage off-leash play time, it is always wise for owners to have access to a lead at all times. Entrance to K-9 Field of Dreams Dog Park is offered to the public free of charge. Though it is not known if water is provided in the runs, bathrooms are available in Riverbend Recreation Area, and water can be obtained there to quench Fido's thirst. Also situated on the property are benches and picnic areas where families can relax and unwind away from the busyness of city life.
An ideal spot for birdwatching and photography, Riverbend Recreation Area offers many attractions to interest the entire family. Among the many on-site amenities are the Lakefront Activity Center, Brugeman Lodge, Raccoon Run Winter Sports Center, a rustic camping facility, sand volleyball courts, disc golf, playgrounds, Robert G. Payne Arboretum, and trails. Giertz Lake is also an ideal fishing haven and is equipped with two piers.
Visitors to this space should bring poop bags with them to assist them with cleaning up after their dogs as mandated by Ohio state law. Additionally, K-9 Field of Dreams Dog Park staff require all dogs to bear current rabies, dog license, and identification tags on their collars.
